Shipping policy

For UK, Europe and Worldwide shipments, we use either Royal Mail or a courier service with DHL, UPS or Fed Ex. Expedited shipping will depend on the product, availability and shipping options for that product.  

Once an item has been placed into the shopping cart and you begin the checkout process, our automated system will estimate the cost of shipping based on the delivery address and postcode (UK) area code (Europe) or Zip Code (US) (Rest of World)

Items that are held in stock will be dispatched within 24-48 hours of receipt of payment notification.  Non-stock items and items that need to be made to order, or personalised will be ordered the day payment is made and dispatched within 24 hours of receipt of goods to you via your chosen delivery method.

Basket/Cart Weights

Royal Mail have a maximum weight for each country they deliver to.  If your basket/cart contains items that are over the maximum weight you may see a message saying cannot ship one or more items to [your address] this can be over ridden by removing one or more items from your basket.  You can also checkout manually by telephoning the shop on +44 (0)1738 310486 or emailing: info@shillingandfitz.com and we can discuss an alternative courier such UPS or FedEx.

Most of the products purchased from Shilling & Fitz are made wholly or, in part, by hand and are dispatched as soon as they have been manufactured. We ask for your patience on the rare exception that you experience any delay in manufacture or shipment.

Most of the sporrans on our website are processed and manufactured for shipment within 5-7 business days of ordering.  Custom order and full mask sporrans may take longer and we will advise you by email upon receipt of payment notification.

Made-to-measure clothing items typically take 8 weeks for manufacture, depending on the nature of the garment and our current workload. 

Bespoke order items typically take 10 weeks for manufacture, depending on the nature of the garment/item, fittings required and our current workload.

Once processed, you will receive an automated email containing all pertinent information, including tracking numbers where applicable. This email comes from "info@shillingandfitz.com" and may end up in your spam folder. In order to get Shilling & Fitz products to your door, we rely on and work alongside Royal Mail, DHL, UPS, and FedEx. We cannot guarantee the accuracy of any shipping carrier’s tracking information.

In the event your shipment has been attempted to be delivered unsuccessfully, Shilling & Fitz reserves the right to wait until the package is returned to us prior to reshipment. If the cause of the undelivered shipment is the carrier's fault, we will happily re-ship the item immediately. If the cause is determined to be the responsibility of the customer, Shilling & Fitz reserves the right to charge the customer for reshipment.

Delayed delivery can occur for many reasons and Shilling & Fitz reserves the right to investigate the cause of any delays before any refunds or replacement shipments will occur.

Depending on the value of your order, delivery signature may be required. This is an additional cost that will be passed along to the customer, pending their approval.

Shipments considered by our carriers to have been attempted, are currently delayed or have been Refused will not have replacement shipments sent automatically until the best course of action has been determined by Shilling & Fitz. Refunds will not be issued until the appropriate course of action has been determined.  We will contact you via email from "info@shillingandfitz.com" to discuss.

Shilling & Fitz are not responsible for loss, damage, or theft that may occur in transit, while in the custody of the shipping carrier. However, in the event of any of these occurrences, we will do what we can to rectify the situation as quickly as possible. If your shipment appears to be damaged, please take images of ALL of the damage, including packaging and contact us immediately. If your tracking information leads you to believe your shipment has been lost in transit, please don’t hesitate to let us know and we will take immediate action.

Fees such as Duties or VAT are not included in the cost of shipping and will be incurred at the cost of the customer.

Items purchased from Shilling & Fitz manufactured in Scotland (United Kingdom) Customs forms are clearly labelled and we work hard to keep our product inventory updated that will allow our customers to avoid as many fees as possible.
